Chapter I

d
I felt compelled to tell my story because it is high time for me to put my foot down! Marilyn Manson was once upon a time a child, a child named Brian Warner. As a child, Brian Warner was subjected to abuse that deeply impacted and shaped the man he became. I cannot and will not allow people to treat a friend of mine so fiendishly (even if that is kind of “his thing”). I am well over the VICTIM narrative! It would be good for people to have a firm grasp of what trauma is and understand where they are on the spectrum, if at all.
I do not appreciate those who would feel compelled to diminish or trivialize trauma and pantomime those who actually have experienced and live with the devastating impacts of trauma. I further do not appreciate the sexist narrative that only men are capable of domestic and intimate violence, there is, after all, copious amounts of evidence that points to the contrary as a truth. Women can be and some most certainly are vicious and cruel creatures that are capable of many vile acts of brutality.
While I would like to align myself with feminists, and the #Me Too movement… I cannot do so in good conscience. Perhaps it is because my first experiences with sexual assault and molestation occurred at the hands of females. I am a female. I have been since my conception, but I am also a human, and I align myself with humans. I am a human who objectively knows better than the narratives cleaned up and packaged for the consumers to base their constructs of reality on. If we are to talk about these issues… issues that are disturbing and that most would agree no human or creature should endure.
